My work is about capturing and to expose what is true, so it becomes powerful. I’m drawn to those in-between moments: a glance, a breath, a shift in posture: the rawness just before or after something is happening in front of my lens.
With a background as an actor and spending a professional career on stage, I approach photography with the eye of a storyteller. As an actor and dancer I’ve developed a deep understanding of storytelling, character and emotional and physical expression. Light and shadow are my language, emotion my subject. Whether working with soft natural light or sculpting harsh contrasts for a cinematic and dramatic effect, I’m looking for strength through vulnerability.
I see the people I photograph not as subjects, but as collaborators. Together we create space for honesty: sometimes asking them to let go of everything, sometimes inviting them to step into a character that reveals a deeper part of themselves. Especially with women, I aim to challenge narrow ideals. Besides the soft feminine side, I also want to capture power, complexity and fearlessness.
The camera is simply a tool. What matters is a true connection. I’m not interested in perfection. I’m interested in what’s real. For me, photography is about making real contact. Therefore, my work is very personal.
In a world driven by image, AI and misleading retouching, I believe photographers carry a responsibility. Not just to create, but to reflect. My work is, above all, about that: holding space for what’s raw and human, and creating images that honour the beauty of who we really are.
